Congratulations on taking affirmative action on your health and happiness with Alkalize Me, and thank you for choosing us to help assist you on your juice cleanse.

If you want the best results and a smooth transition, then here is where the important work starts, getting the body cleanse ready. 

I have put together some information that will help you, both pre and post-cleanse, take a look at this and do your best to take as much of the advice as possible, remember your health is wealth! The more that you can stick to this the better results you will get.

Withdrawing from caffeine and refined sugars almost always gives bad headaches and cravings so they are best dropped off as soon as possible so that they are well out of your system before you start your cleanse. This really cannot be stressed enough, but the withdrawal symptoms usually only last 1 to 2 days and are easily managed if done before starting the cleanse.

You may well be excited and or nervous. It's natural to be excited and nervous, and any big lifestyle change will invoke these feelings. I have complete faith in you.

What to do pre-cleanse

As the cleanse itself is just days away, now is a great time to start to prepare yourself, both physically and mentally to give yourself the best chance of success and to maximise the many benefits of the process. Remember, the more prepared you are, the better your cleanse will be. 

To help purify your body before your cleanse arrives, it's a great idea to start each day off with a glass of warm water with the juice of a lemon squeezed in - you can also add a half teaspoon of cayenne if you have some. This process will increase the rate of detoxification by opening the circulatory system and alkalising bodily fluids.

Try and drink at least 2 litres of non-carbonated water a day, this will aid your cleansing process when it arrives, by allowing your cells to eliminate toxins more efficiently, decrease tiredness and reduce hunger cravings also it will get your system familiar with drinking large volumes of fluid before starting your cleanse.

To give your digestive system a head start, it's a very good idea to begin to eliminate acidic and heavy foods and drinks that are slow to digest and will counteract the intentions of the cleanse. These include;

  • Bad Grains, namely gluten (breads, cereals etc)

  • Animal Products (meats, dairy, eggs)

  • Processed Foods

  • White sugar, sugary Foods/Drinks

  • Caffeine/Cigarettes

  • Alcohol

It may seem hard to give all these things up, but your body will respond much better in the cleanse if you can do it! It also helps with the mental process. See your cleanse as starting now, and removing these toxic foods is phase one, with the juice cleanse itself being the second phase. In this first phase, you can eat as much of the following as you like, which helps with the alkalising process. 

  • Steamed Vegetables

  • Salads

  • Soups

  • Fruits

  • Smoothies (with dark leafy greens)

  • Gluten-free grains (quinoa, millet etc)

Your cleanse starts here! Keep your goal in mind and remember why you're doing this journey. The more you can stick to this, the more productive your process will be. You can do this! 


What to do post-cleanse

Very soon now you'll be back eating solid foods. It's especially important now to eat food that your body will really thrive on - whole, plant-based foods being the optimum choices for continued alkalization. 

It is best to start off with lighter foods such as salads and soups.

Avoid harder-to-digest produce initially such as meats, dairy and gluten as your system will take a little time to readjust to eating again so you want to be as gentle as you can.

Caffeine and alcohol are best avoided over the next few days as your body will still be in detox mode so have that process in mind.

Treading lightly and focusing on hydration is the key.

Drinking warm water with fresh lemon in the morning and plenty of filtered water throughout the day will keep you well hydrated and help flush the remaining toxins through. 

Try not to undo all your hard work!
